Whether you completed your Level 3 (A-Level / BTEC / T-Level) qualifications in 2025, 2015, 2005 or even 1995 there’s likely something that you have in common. You remember your results day as if it was yesterday.
I do too.
This year, for the second year in a row I was proud to appear on the BBC London evening TV News – talking about results day. A difference this time? Instead of being on results day itself, I appeared on Wednesday 13 August, the day before results day, in discussion with Riz Lateef about last minute preparation and navigating the big day.
Within less than 4-minutes, we discussed:
- Options if your grades are lower than expected
- The benefits of considering the different potential scenarios (on the night before, but useful even at the time you are reading this)
- Usefulness Reflecting on where students getting their results
- Expanding your definition of what successful is
- What to do if your grades are higher
- The importance of universities hearing from the candidate themselves (as opposed to parents or staff)
- School / college support on the big day
How was results day 2025 for you?
Did you meet the offers to proceed with your university or apprenticeship goals?
Achieve higher grades?
Lower?
Have you changed your mind about what you’d like to do next?
Beyond the UCAS website which is always a great source for opportunities and the central hub where some of your decisions will be confirmed, please remember, there is support available to you. This is hopefully through qualified careers guidance professionals at your school or college, sixth form leaders, teachers, parents and more… though do remember that the former (the qualified careers guidance professionals) are a great source of independent, impartial guidance.
As you embark on your steps beyond your level 3 qualifications – wishing you all the best!
… And if you would like to join a community which is designed to support your endeavours to secure multiple work experience opportunities in the next few years (something which will make your university to employment journey smoother!), drop me an enquiry. I’m hoping to get something off the ground in Autumn 2025.
