Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions about career coaching in general or services from Your Career And Future specifically - and how any of this can affect (and enhance) your professional life, take a look here...
A. According to the Career Development Institute:
This particular definition of career reminds us that often, we are on our career journey long before we recognise it. If it is indeed our journey through life, learning and work - it is important to acknowledge that:
- A 6-year old’s love of gymnastics may lead to a career in the sport and / or a transferable skill such as discipline which can be applied to any future goals
- A 11 year old’s raw artistic talent, cultivated by an incredible art teacher in secondary school may lead to a career as a fine artist, graphic designer or (if hand in hand with maths skills) - an architect
- A parent may be a STEM / STEAM enthusiast, taking their child along to the Science Museum, talks, buying and playing games built to cultivate these skills, building a computer at home together, booking a week-long coding camp in the summer and before you know it - the deep interest that child now has in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths can translate into a job and career due to these interests.
Career describes our working journey. Let’s make the most of it.
A: In the simplest of terms, career coaching is the process in which an individual or a group works with a coach to help them navigate their career journey and be the best they can be. It is a powerful tool for career and life happiness.
The process of creating a partnership between coach and client/s in a safe space is transformative. There is a reason why many of the leaders in their industry that you can think of, have worked with coaches. Wouldn’t you as an individual and / or your community of early talent benefit from the self-reflection, clarity and confidence that coaching can facilitate?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Career coaching is accessible for both individuals and organisations and here at Your Career And Future, individuals and groups can benefit from it.
A: Career coaching is a powerful tool which gives you a safe (yet necessarily challenging) space in which to think and act when it comes to your professional goals. When working with Your Career And Future your personal goals are also a fundamental part of the equation as working on your work life without regard to your actual life can lead to a frustrating disconnect.
Ultimately, career coaching is beneficial in articulating your goals and dreams and achieving them faster than you would on your own. Accountablity. Action. Achievement.
So powerful!

A: From the perspective of an individual, perhaps surprisingly, there are a few ways. For example:
- Gina is wholeheartedly committed to democratising access to quality careers support for those early in their career and as such - has channels where careers content is accessible at no cost. These include the Dive Into Your Career podcast and Your Career And Future via TikTok. You can start to advance your career through learnings and guidance courtesy of those platforms.

Likewise, if you are a graduate and already in the world of work - we would be delighted to work with your early careers team or any other relevant colleagues to create a programme for staff, and that may include you.
A: While the organisation is based in the UK (London / Surrey) - there is the potential to work more globally via Zoom (throughout the year) or in person (at certain times of year).
Considering Gina is a “child of the Diaspora” and Third Culture Kid who was born and raised in varying countries around the world - being a global career coach who is able to contribute to the career development of young people throughout the world is the intention, so don’t hesitate to get in touch with your queries via the contact page.
