Students & Graduates
As you progress through school and university, there are an increasing amount of decisions that need to be made. In the UK and schools globally which follow the British system, that may include choosing GCSEs and then A-Levels or T-Levels / BTECs… as well as whether to embark on an apprenticeship (which could include a degree apprenticeship) or university.
What's next?
Once at university (should you take that route), you are then navigating a sea of spring weeks, internships, placement year possibilities, volunteering opportunities and more - all while juggling those all important studies. And what’s next after university? That can feel like a big and scary question to answer.
In fact, it is as you approach your university graduation that it can all feel a bit much because for the first time ever, you are making choices and seeking opportunities without limitation on what you can choose. On which path you can take.
You have entered a space in which careers are explored and enhanced, in a spirit of fun and optimism, not fear and overwhelm.
Exciting, right?!
To put it in test terms (sorry, but as a student this analogy may be relatable!) until this point, your decisions have been multiple choice - for example (a) traditional university (b) placement year (c ) degree apprenticeship etc… whereas your decisions as you approach the end of your current education journey are… well… limitless.
As you approach graduation you are on the precipice of real and wide ranging choices. That can feel liberating. It can also feel scary.
My hope is that you have brilliant careers provision in your school and an active, innovative university careers department, however if you want support beyond what those services offer - that’s where our work together could be beneficial.
